The time has come that I’ve hit my dirty 30’s…well on the 19th technically. Honestly, life is fleeting and it goes faster each year I get older, but I think I’m going to embrace my 30’s. I also freaked out more when I turned 24 than I am now so I have hope. We’ll see how it actually goes on my birthday.
The thirty years I have been on this earth I’ve learned a few things and have had an absolute blast while trekking through my journey. I also have personal goals to reach this next year, visions of myself becoming a stronger woman and to teach myself to be secure. It’s gonna be tough, but I’m going to come out stronger in the end and I’m not going to let other people’s lives determine my path.
In honor of my 30th, I’m going to list 30 things about myself. I know I have an about me section in my profile, but I want to share more so you all can get to know me better! It’s difficult through stories and photos. So here it goes!
-I’m 100% sarcastic, mostly in the wrong situations. Not many people can tell when I’m joking or being serious…not even my husband. I’m working on my jokes so that I don’t have to explain them. OR maybe I’m just too witty? ;)
- I LOVE to laugh and I love a good PUN joke.
-I’ve struggled with anxiety and some depression since our first child was born. Thankful for therapy and counsel from friends
-I knew my husband in middle school, but we didn’t start dating until the end of his junior year of college.
-I’m a lefty
-I’m a distributer/educator for Young Living essential Oils. I love that I have found a way to get toxins out of our home and help our health! It’s become a passion of mine and I want to share it. So if you know me you’ll probably hear about it because it’s a part of our everyday lives. #sorrynotsorry
- I’m also all about balance…like give me all of the food and dessert and give me all or most of the health food! We eat healthily majority of the time, but sometimes it’s good to splurge.
- I want to travel with my family, God created beautiful places and I want us all to experience it.
- My favorite place I have traveled to in the U.S. is Colorado. Would live there in a heartbeat if it didn’t snow so much. I felt so free there, it's something about that mountain air.
-I have two beautiful children. One is four and our newest babe is 9 weeks. I’m denying that life goes by so fast with how quickly they are growing.
-I bake better than I cook. Plus I just like sweets so much.
-I love to hike, but I’m not able to do it nearly enough
-I was a hairstylist for 9 years and decided to step away from that career, for now, to focus on my family and me. I felt like I couldn't give my people my all at the end of the day. Too drained to function. I did however have some amazing guests and I will definitely miss them.
- I took ballet for the first time ever in my late twenties and miss it every single day. Alicia was an amazing instructor who had a ton of patience with me.
-I hate being in front of a camera, I’d rather be behind it.
- I’m kind of awkward in larger groups of people and when I say "larger" I mean more than a few.
-I’m not a public speaker AT ALL!!
- I am awful at telling stories. I either forget a majority of what the story was about or I give details that don't matter.
- Kayaking is my jam
- Give me all the coffee all day.
-I love to dance, but my four-year-old is embarrassed by me. Little does he know I was on the dance team one year of middle school and two years of high school. Mama got some moves.
- I love books even if I don’t have enough time to read them and when I try I end up falling asleep.
- Sitting around a fire with a glass of wine talking with friends or family is an ideal night for me
- Fall and Spring are my favorite…I know pretty basic. There are many colors that paint the landscapes during these seasons and I love the sound of leaves crunching under my feet.
-I can’t stand to drive, it makes me anxious. Mostly because other people are crazy when they're behind the wheel.
- I have never lived outside of Kentucky, but that doesn’t mean I’m not open to it. The opportunity hasn’t come about just yet.
- I love hard. My family and friends mean the world to me.
-My husband is baller, he is the best man to me and a rockstar of a dad to our children.
- I miss riding in my car with the windows down and music blaring. I try to do it when the kiddos aren’t in the car with me and if weather permits
- I’m somehow related to John Wilkes Booth and my husband is somehow related to Mary Lincoln. The irony of these two blood lines getting married kind of blows my mind.
Cheers to the becoming thirty and becoming my stronger self!
