I wanted to highlight this in particular because I believe it is just as important to have the fathers of our children (ours, meaning society) as well as the mothers in the lives of our children. This company creates a box each month for Dad’s and children with purpose. It’s intended to grow their memories, minds, and enjoy life with one another. They deserve to have these experiences just as much as we Mother’s do. Give them this gift that’s more than just items in a box, it’s a wonderful way to bring joy to both their lives.
Here is Chris, one of the co-founders of Dadhood with his answers to my questions with what’s behind the creation of these boxes.

What inspired you to start Dadhood box?
For Matt and I and then eventually Brian, we hear so many guys talk about how they struggle to connect with their kids. We all have busy schedules with school, long hours at the office, after-school activities and the normal day-to-day life stuff that cut out time for some of the most meaningful things in our lives...our families. With busy schedules, it's hard to plan and intentionally create moments with our kids and families. So that's where we decided to step in. We give dads the tools and the actual products needed in order to make memories with their families and find space to find time for themselves as well.

What’s your favorite piece you’ve put in the box and why?
That's a hard question. We have put some really rad stuff in there. I loved the silly string and the water balloons. Jovi and I had a blast with that ourselves. I think some other things would probably be our Legacy books we sent out. We came up with a three-week daily guide to start building a legacy for your family to carry with them. One of the guys built a full wooden box to start collecting things to eventually hand down to his kids.
And I can't forget the disposable camera. Hearing the stories of what kids thought of those old things were great.
Who did you have in mind while creating your service?
Really, it was people who are like me and are not. Like me in the sense that we are all so busy and just need a push to get us over the hump and to help us make these moments with our kids. Our time with them is limited.

When I say not like me, I meant guys who really struggle to connect with their kids. I have been super lucky as a single dad to have a ton of time with Jovi one on one. Not many guys have that ability or they see it as a challenge to keep their children entertained, and that is something we hear more and more. So this was made for them too, to help give them the tools they need to start creating moments and memories with their families.
Describe your creative process from design to production.
We try to sit down together and plan out a few months in advance and start ordering or procuring some good ideas based on what themes we have set for the month. I'm the one that has to be tamed a bit because I would send the silly string and messy stuff every month. But we all have different personalities so it works out great. Some boxes may have one item here or there that one of us loved as a kid. Some boxes we just try to think about what we would want to see at our front door. And some may have been changed at the last minute to kind of deal with something we may be dealing with in the news. There really is a lot of thought that goes into these and a desire to never
send an item that is just an easy filler.
